Our story

Lycoming heating was started in 1935 as a family owned business for heating and air conditioning. In 2019 the original owners decided to retire and was bought by another family owned business in Lebanon, Pa.

George Strohm Jr, Inc.

George Strohm Jr. started his business in 1954 after returning from home at the end of WWII and learning the trades thru the GI bill. George Strohm Jr. started installing some of the first indoor bathrooms and hydronic heating systems in Lebanon County. George always talked about his pet monkey in the South Pacific, that all his buddy’s called George, and the reason we have adopted our mascot “ George the Monkey “.

His son Tom Strohm took over in 1985 after growing up in the business, and is still a current owner along with a co-owner Dan Grumbine, an Army veteran who was originally brought on board as a business coach and adviser. Dan became a partner in 2018 and started looking to expand the company, by looking for other quality Plumbing and HVAC Companies with owners looking to retire. They first acquired Hlavaty Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in Pine Grove, then Flex Mechanical in Pottsville, as well as Lycoming Heating Co. In Williamsport, and are always looking for another opportunity help another owner enjoy retirement. In 2021 Tom and Dan decided to expand the business to offer more products and services for their customers. In addition to being the “indoor comfort specialists” they decided to expand to the outdoors as well and created “the outdoor paradise experts” With this new line of products: swimming pools, hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, gazebos, pavilions, fireplaces, shed, swings and more… you can now enjoy the comfort of your outdoors and you can indoors! As we continue to grow and expand,we decided to create an umbrella company for all our services and retail stores. In honor of the George Strohm Jr, we decided to call the company “George Home Services”.
